To support healing you can make ‘porridge' of white French millet and linseed (flax seeds). Soak overnight or simmer for a few minutes to make this. Alternatively, use two teaspoons of this mix crushed and mix directly into food. This mix is high in silica and highly nutritious for your dog. The herbs do not interfere or react with other meds; they support the dog's system and therefore it's really important to start the recommended treatment in its entirety. If your dogs' weight and diet is an issue, you need to address this. If your dog is overweight reduce her food by a third and weigh her every week.
For a treat try this recipe which uses the millet and linseed as a main ingredient:
Biscuit recipe:
1 cup Rolled Oats, 1/2 cup ground Linseed, ½ cup ground Millet, 1 ½ teaspoons Baking Powder, 1 table spoon of Yoghurt, Good pinch salt, Desert spoon honey, One ounce Butter (well softened) and Water.
Mix all ingredients and use enough water to get a pliable dough. Grease an oven pan and position about ten biscuits. Put pan in preheated oven 200*C ($392.0*F) and cook for seventeen minutes in a fan forced oven. Experiment with non fanforced oven. Cool cooked biscuits and place in sealed container. Keep in fridge. If not kept in fridge, biscuits will develop a green mould after about five days.
I also recommend that you place your dog on a diet of raw meat and bones i.e. beef/mutton bones with meat on them or raw chicken necks and wings, mince; definitely no processed food and snacks. You can also add some freshly cooked vegetables and rice.
If your dog is not already on this type of diet, then I suggest that you introduce it slowly.
