You are here: Home > Testimonials > Canine Lymphoma Maddies Remission - where to from here? Chris shares the story of Maddie's (her Golden Retreiver) 18 month remission :- "Hello Robert... Thought I'd give you a progress report on my Golden Retriever Maddie (now 8 years old). She's been in remission from lymphoma for almost 18months. She's been taking the Maritime Pine Bark, and the Lymphoma syrup that you've sent. Unfortunately, today, at her regular check-up the Vet could paplate the "lumps" in her throat. And she's lost about 9.5 pounds in the last 4 weeks. Tomorrow she is scheduled for a dose of doxirobicin [spelling probably incorrect] to hopefully drive the cancer into a second remission. I'd been so confident that she would continue her remission, so I'm a little "down" right now, but will rally to the cause shortly. Is there additional treatment options that you would recommend? Should I increase her doses of the 2 items you provide? Thanks for helping her achieve the long remission that she's had, and for whatever advice you can provide. " Chris Robert Replied :- You may certainly double or quadruple the dose of the tonics with no detrimental side effects and this is worth a shot. I am not so sure that the chemotherapy will be worthwhile though. My experience is that if a dog has a long and healthy remission and then drops out again, she is ready to go and will usually go downhill quickly and free of pain or discomfort. If this is what is happening your best bet is to accept that this is not likely and let her go without a frantic struggle on your part. I am sorry that Maddie seems to have reached this point, I will be delighted if you were able to encourage a second remission, but can offer nothing further than the advice above.
