Bladder stones come in several mineral compositions. The most common stone types are oxalate and struvite and since the approach is completely different for each type, it is crucial to determine the stone type. Struvite stones in the cats are almost always formed because of the urinary changes that occur with specific types of bladder infection. Almost always a staphylococcal infection but occasionally a Proteus infection.
The herbs in my mix to address the problem include Uva Ursi, Rosehips, Golden Seal, Alfalfa, Echinacea, Garlic, Buchu, CornSilk and Equisetum along with the Bach Flowers Oak, Vine, Rock Water, Rescue Remedy.
Start off on 2 drops to accustom your cat to the taste as they are fussy eaters. Mix into a smelly food like sardines or condensed milk. Then slowly build up the dose to 5 drops twice daily.
