This mixture is strongly antiseptic and the effect of the treatment is to seal small blood vessels, control bleeding, prevent infection and to allow the wound to heal with a minimum of scarring.
The Herbs used are a combination of Calendula, Yarrow & the Bach flower Rescue Remedy which acts as an antiseptic and astringent to stem blood flow from an open wound. It can be squirted or sprayed directly into a wound as first aid to reduce blood flow and then again after washing the wound. The Antiseptic/Styptic will protect the wound from infection and allow it to heal from the inside out, with the minimum of scarring. We recommended that the Antiseptic/Styptic be applied daily until the wound has healed and new skin covers the area.. Thereafter a Scar Healing preparation may be used to help minimise scarring.
