Hidalgo survives liver failure

This is my boy Hidalgo three years after being diagnosed with liver failure and with more than 30 liver shunts. Surgery was used to diagnose and to see if he could be "saved" but thereHidalgo were too many liver shunts. I was told that he would die a horrible death within 9 months. They wanted me to put him down but I brought my boy home to take one day at a time and to love him dearly. He gets a kiss before and after each meal. He eats only the canned diet for Liver issues. He has been on the Liver Restorative since I got his diagnosis. He is also on antibiotic and lactulose to help his regularity. I have been afraid to change anything since we were taking it one day at a time and expecting any day for him to die. The three vets who read his report from Med Vet, shake their heads and say there is no way he could still be alive and doing well. This a picture of him taken February 2010 running and playing in the snow! He is a sweet, gentle boy who visited the folks regularly at the assisted living home and was with me bedside when my 92 year old mom passed a way . He appreciates being with us and his eyes gleam with love. Debbie Smith in Ohio USA
