You are here: Home > Herbal Treatments for Dogs > Chronic Inner Ear Infection Herbal Treatment Ear Infections - Fungal - Herbal Treatment 50 ml Blend for $18.50. External use 15 to 20 drops in the ear and allow draining twice daily. Recurrent ear infections are not primarily bacterial at all. The ear canal is a nice warm moist environment which is an ideal host for a fungal (yeast) infection of. In most dogs the ear canal has a bend in it which inhibits draining as well. Any infection is a secondary one which can take hold when the fungus has damaged and inflamed the tissue and this explains why all these expensive antibiotics are doing no good. Dogs may go for long periods without much irritation and then at other times the fungi can be very active. The active times normally correspond to the occasions when the ear has been exposed to fresh water. This rejuvenates the fungus which lies inactive if the canal is dry or even if the exposure has been to salt water which does not promote fungal growth. The ideal combination to force the fungi into dormancy is a combination of Cider Vinegar with Alcohol and a herb called Thuja along with the Bach Flower Remedy Crab Apple. In combination this mix will dry out the canal and leave a fine layer of acetic acid (from the Vinegar) on the skin of the canal along with a residue of this herb (Thuja). This situation is definitely not conducive to fungal growth so it becomes dormant and can remain so for years. Every time you get some fresh water in the ear you can repeat the treatment for a few days and drive the fungal back into dormancy. This treatment is a highly reliable one, one which involves no risk, drugs or danger to your health and one that is simple and inexpensive.
