Bowel Cancer Herbal Support Treatment

Cancer of the bowel and rectum are the second leading cause of death in western countries. Diet plays a role in this form of cancer, diets low in fibre and high in animal protein, fats and refined carbohydrates have a higher risk of developing colon and rectal cancer. It may begin slowly as a swelling on the intestinal lining, lymph nodes are readily invaded and it can spread easily to the liver through the blood stream.
Symptoms depend on the extent and location. The most common symptom in rectal cancer is blood in the faeces. In colon cancer depending on whether its started in the ascending or descending colon the only symptoms may be fatigue and weakness from anemia or crampy abdominal pain with alternating diarrhoea and constipation.
For Bowel Cancer patients the herbs which I normally choose for my basic support mix are; Dandelion, Comfrey, Wormwood, Chamomile, St Mary's Thistle, Rosehips, Slippery Elm, Mistletoe, Hawthorne, Liquorice, Senna and Blue Flag. The Bach Flower Remedies that are included are Agrimony, Holly, Rock Water, Vine, Sweet Chestnut, Olive and Mimulus.
These herbs in combination support one another, and the patient's liver, bowel and toxin elimination systems that have always broken down to allow a bowel cancer to develop.
In addition I always recommend MaritimePine Bark a super antioxidant to dramatically stimulate the patients immunity and ability to fight the cancer.
I ask new patients to describe their current condition and treatment program and following an assessment, I will prescribe a treatment along the lines above to begin their program.
