MUSCLE OR LIGAMENT PAIN

This week, Robert recieved an email:

I have a problem with my shoulders the muscle and or ligaments can be painful during after excersizing. I can hear the bone clicking upon raising my arm. I have tried every thing for relief. Your advice. Thanks for any help.

Robert's Answer:

Dear ******,

There can be any number of reasons why your shoulder is hurting especially after excercise.

These are divided into two main possibilies.

1. The problem is structural (arthritic) in the sense that there is some sort of calficication growing on the bone ends in the joint or the ligaments are somehow damaged and this causes clicking, restriction of movement or inflammation when excercising.

2. The problem is rheumatic in which case the problem is with the lubrication within the joint which in turn means that the problem is in the blood and the systems within the body which maintain the correct chemical composition of the blood.

You really need a proper diagnosis and the best person to approach first is likely to be an osteopath who will probably be able to best diagnose exactly what is happening if the problem is structural.

I cannot make the diagnosis for you but if you want to try a ligament oil which I make up which will help to speed up the healing and provide relief in either case I have one I make up which will both speed up healing and reversal of structural problems and improve the circulation within the joint which will help if the problem is rheumatic.

Orthorox medicine really does not have any tonics which they prescribe which will speed up healing although they are experimenting with a like glaucosamine at present. The herbs Equisetum and Comfrey do an amazing job in this regard as does the inclusion of ground millet and linseed in your diet maybe just sprinkled on your breakfast cereal every morning.

If you are more inclined to believe the problem is do do with the inflammation caused by lubrication in the joints and inflammation like rheumatism then the recommened internal treatment is based on blood cleansers and is to be found on the website at:

Orthodox medicine either offers pain killers, anti inflammatories or steroids deal with rheumatic pain, sometimes even chemotherapy agents like methatrexate. None of these have any healing properties and at best all they can do is reduce inflammation and pain in the hope that somehow the body will fix itself by being given a break.

Depending on your experience with either or both of these approaches I would then be able to offer more advice maybe along the lines of specific excercises and specific blood cleansers or nervous system tonics as we proceed with your treatment.
