Robert McDowell's Herbal Treatments 17 November 2004 Herbal Help for Humans and their CompanionsFalling in LoveHave you ever wondered about how falling in love works. Its such a powerful emotion, we often think we will die without that one person when we are in the first throws of love. Usually in "normal " living our adult ego boundaries keep us apart from others, at times it may even feel lonely. By falling in love we temporarily escape the lonliness and merge with another. Ecstacy is the result, as we feel totally at one with our beloved. Falling in love is not an extension of ones limits or boundaries , it is in fact as M. Scott Peck explains in his famous book "The Road Less Travelled" a partial or temporary collapse of our boundaries. We fall in love without effort as often as not to someone who is quite illmatched and unsuitable as some one who we may deeply respect. We seem to have no control over who we fall in love with or that it happens -it just happens. Some people explain it as a memory from a previous lifetime, which does not mean we have any responsibility or duty to look into it. Our self discipline and will can control the experience of falling love, usually however with great suffering and struggle. Sooner or later in response to daily living, differences arise and the two individuals have to be acknowledged, complete sacrifice is no longer an option, the feeling of being in love passes as our boundaries fall back into place - disillusionment may follow or real love may grow. The relationship either dissolves or the hard work of "real" loving starts which is indeed an act of will, by this behaviour we may become a better person , extending our personal boundaries to accommodate another. The happy maintaining of any relationship requires consideration, patience, perseverance and faith. Best wishes to you all! This week we feature:-
Canine - Amazing Results from our Simple Eye Wash Joan Copperfield took advantage of my free online canine consultation service and wrote to me on Thursday, March 21st. "My dog has a corneal ulcer which has ruptured. Can anything you have help me? We have tried everything and it looks as though she will lose her left eye soon." My reply to her on March 22nd was: "I make up an herbal eye treatment, which is quite amazing in its ability to clear infective problems, and heal up damage otherwise in the eye. It is always able to arrest the progress of severe eye problems in both humans and animals up to and including Psoriasis, which is the most invasive and painful condition I have come across. This mix is described and may be ordered from the link http://www.herbal-dogkeeping.com/dog_eye_wash.html My recommendation is that you order some of this simple and cheap concentrate, which will last indefinitely and be on hand for any injuries in future. It would certainly have cleared the original ulcer if it wasn't caused by a deep puncture wound in the first place. The mix must be diluted as per the instructions and may be dropped into the eye with a dropper. Alternatively it can be put in a small pump spray (like a perfume spray) and prayed onto the eye which is often more comfortable for an animal which is sick and tired of prodding and poking about in its eye. For a start I would make up a single batch and apply it in the morning and evening and later on only once per day should be enough. Continue with this and let me know after about 4 weeks how you are getting on. My first aim is to save the eye and then to see what sight if any is left." March 23rd from Joan: "Thank you for your quick reply. I am very excited about ordering this herbal eyewash. I have tried all conventional treatments for my little pug, Suzie, but with very little or no success. Her eyes are both deteriorating rapidly so I have nothing to lose by trying new methods. She has corneal ulcers on both eyes and her eyes no longer produce tears. There is an operation she could have but it costs almost $800 and I don't have the money. If I can just relieve Suzie's eye pain it will mean a lot. Suzie is a much beloved family pet. She was my 'day care' dog and helped me raise my grandchildren. She is almost 8 years old. I am placing my order for the eyewash today. Thank you very much." I posted out her treatment on Monday March 25th. On April 11th, I received the following report from Joan "Robert I wanted to give you a progress report on my little pug's corneal ulcers. I had ordered your herbal eyewash and I have used it for about a week and a half now. When I started using it, Suzie had a small active corneal ulcer in her right eye that was extremely painful. She also had an inactive ulcer in her left eye that had ruptured and was trying to heal over and had left a huge gray spot in the middle of her eyeball. Her eyes were so painful that the vet had told me the day before that we would have to remove both of her eyes. I had been using 5 different medicines in her eyes for 2 months. When I got your eye wash, I immediately quit using all medications except for one antibiotic salve. There was only a small amount left in the tube and I used it mostly for nighttime moisturizing. After using your eyewash for 2 days, Suzie was able to open her eyes for the first time in almost a month. After 4 days she was no longer in pain. The ulcer in her right eye is completely gone and has left no scar. The ugly ulcer in her left eye is almost completely gone also. There is one tiny spot left, which I think will be gone soon. The eyeball looks clear again, all the grey is gone. After the antibiotic salve was gone I started using one drop of castor oil in her eyes at night for moisture, and one drop of mineral oil in her eyes during the day if her eyes start looking dry. I started out using your eye wash three times a day, but now I have cut back to twice a day, per your instructions. Suzie has taken an active interest in life again. She is getting her energy back. Her eyesight has improved immensely. Two weeks ago she seemed to not be able to see more than a few feet in front of her. Now she seems to be able to see almost as well as she used to. I am so happy about your eyewash. I am going to take Suzie back to our Vet next week and make him look at her eyes. He is not going to able to believe that it is the same dog. Thank God I found you instead of having my precious little dog's eyes removed." This can be due to stress initially or a medical (like colic) episode. Then it can develop into the habit of reacting to other situations by going into a static gut type of mode. The one single herb which is best at re-establishing normal gut peristalsis from non pathological causes is the herb Chamomile. I would recommend a half cup of chamomile flowers soaked into boiling water and used to dampen feed twice daily. I recommend that the feed consist of green pick and plain oaten hay or chaff. No pellets, no prepared feed and no medicines. Just leave the animal in a paddock with some mates and keep it very simple along the lines above. You should add a few drops of Rescue Remedy to each of the Chamomile tea preparations. Report back to me after 3 or 4 weeks on the above and then when all is much simpler and calmer I will consider prescribing a more comprehensive program if the results are still not 100% , such as to be found on the link: http://www.herbal-horsekeeping.com/horse_conditioning_blend.html Human - Suffering From Chronic Migrane There are several distinctly different reasons behind migraine and the first thing is to establish which of these are involved. I divide migraine into the following four categories when considering a particular person: Dehydration Migraine: Most commonly involving habitually not drinking enough fluid of any sort. Many people will go all day and it really doesn't occur to them to drink or at least no more than to wet their mouth just enough to take the feeling of thirst away. This type of dehydration headache comes on in the afternoon and is the easiest to test for because you simply make sure that you drink 3 - 4 full glasses of water through the day. Not drinking enough is a seriously bad habit and can have all sorts of other sorts of repercussions throughout a persons life and a dehydration migraine is really only an alarm bell ringing. http://www.herbal-treatment.net/herbs_migraine_dehydration.html Neck Tension Migraine: Most commonly found in people who carry their responsibilities, or the 'weight of the world' on their shoulders. It is easy to test for this one also as there is always a serious amount of neck tension involved. Feel how soft the muscles at the base of the neck and top of the shoulders are and massage the tension out. Have a series of professional massages (not chiropractic adjustment in the first instance) and systematically work down through the accumulated tension and notice how much this breaks into the pattern of migraine occurrences. Then ask yourself why your are responding in this way to tension. Often these types are striving too hard for perfection or in a situation which has them perceiving that they are responsible for too much or are desperately trying to please. http://www.herbal-treatment.net/herbs_migraine_neck_tension.html Liver Based Migraine: This type is triggered by certain foods and if you watch carefully you can probably begin to associate the onset of this type of headache with some particular food. Usually some sort of junk food involving too much oil, or artificial colour or flavour. In adults often red wine or cheese for example can be involved. Besides trying to improve the diet and avoiding clear triggers, I prescribe liver tonics in these cases and look also to the stress handling responses of the person as they often have a more sensitive than normal liver due to their internalising stresses in such a way as to upset the liver. Once again this sort of stress handling behaviour is more likely to be learned from parents and there are lessons to be learned from such a headache pattern in a young person and opportunities to avoid a whole pattern of problems in later life which can result. Never be happy to continue taking strong pain medication as a migraine sufferer on any sort of long term basis as these medications are just masking the problem and avoiding the underlying problem. http://www.herbal-treatment.net/herbs_migraine_liver.html Hormonally Based Migraine: Hormonal Migraines are normally directly related to the female hormonal cycle and occur either mid month around ovulation time, or immediately prior to menstruation. It may also be that your Migraine pattern is really one of the other types, but just that at period time, the extra load on the system will trigger the headache. In these cases it is useful to combine both the Hormonal Migraine Program with the other one appropriate to the case. http://www.herbal-treatment.net/herbs_migraine_hormonal.html Home Remedies - Migraines
Reader Feed Back Feedback from a Reader"A personal healing story"Robert, A year ago, I was very ill. I spent most of my time in bed. I even made out a will etc Since then in no small part due to your Skin ointment, I have made quite a recovery. You can't always be sure of these things but the Cancer cells seem to be clearing up. In terms of returning strength, co-ordination, ability to work and play sport again, I am getting back to normal. I think I have removed fifty per cent of the cancer cells from my body. The skin absorbs the herbal ointments and so apart from the immediate effect on the skin where it is applied, it starts to circulate in the body, inevitably mixing with cancer cells. Stage four melanoma - normally is a death sentence. But just now I seem to be getting better. Amazing Robert. What have I been doing ? Each day:- Something in particular, or a combination of all these things helping me to recover??? Jim We value your feedback so much that we are making it easier for you to send us a sentence or two. Please fill in the form below and click 'Submit' Wishing you and your companions the best of health and happiness. Yours Truly, Judith Burton for Robert McDowell |
