You are creating your own living biography. By keeping a journal you are expressing through words, symbols, sketches an appreciation for the world of nature and of human society to which you belong. A journal can be like a work place or a studio, the souls kitchen. This week we feature:-
Canine - Boils A boil can be caused by an infected hair follicle, sebaceous cyst, diet insufficiency or toxins building up in the circulation & parking themselves under the skin as a boil. Treat with a course of bloodcleansers to start. http://www.herbal-dogkeeping.com/dog_blood_poisoning.html Continue this treatment for 12 weeks. Dab daily castor oil over the boil to draw out the infection. You can cover with a light bandage. Alternate castor oil with dabbing on colloidal silver onto the boil to treat the infection topically. It should burst & release its contents, this is a good thing. Keep applying the castor oil & colloidal silver until it completely clears. I also recommend that you place your dog on a diet of raw meat & bones i.e. beef/mutton bones with meat on them or raw chicken necks and wings, mince, definitely no processed food and snacks. You can also add some freshly cooked vegetables and rice as well. If your dog is not already on this type of diet, then I suggest that you introduce it slowly. Have a read of the following articles regarding dogs diets and why it is important to keep it natural and simple: http://www.herbal-dogkeeping.com/articles_digestive_system_ofadog.html http://www.herbal-dogkeeping.com/articles_give_your_dog_abone.html Also add 2 dessertspoons of crushed White millet & linseed to the diet 1 x daily to improve tissue quality & repair Equine - Explaining the Ingredients of the Internal Sarcoid Treatment We have had many clients and their horses using our sarcoid program with very good results. The internal sarcoid mix contains the following herbs: Echinacea, Thuja, Equisetum, Comfrey, Mistletoe, Vervain and Violet Leaves. In addition I have included the following Bach Flower Remedies Rescue Remedy, Walnut and Crab Apple. The combined effect of these herbs and each of their range of actions is to clear toxins from the blood directly using the effects of Echinacea, Thuja and Mistletoe each of which works on different type of metabolic, bacterial and viral debris; to stimulate the systems which carry such material out of the system (Equisetum and Violet Leaves which stimulate discharge through the bowel, skin and lymphatics). The Nervine Vervain is included to support the nervous system which is more susceptible to skin problems and Comfrey is a healer. The Bach Flowers actions are self evident. None of these herbs either individually or in harmony with one another produce any sort of reaction apart from temporary increase in waste elimination and will not interfere with antihistamines. Over sensitivity as in allergy is likely to be a result of blood toxins and it will go away as the treatment clears these. Anti-histamines are only a temporary solution often only maintaining their effect for 4 hours . Human - Understanding Allergies The human immune system is really quite amazing , when properly functioning it works as a biological warfare unit. It is able to identify and destroy many foreign invaders. It does all of this work so the body remains healthy. However sometimes our immune system makes mistakes and in fact allergies are a direct result of a hypersensitive immune system response. The hypersensitive immune system misidentifies an otherwise innocuous substance as harmful, and then attacks the substance with a ferocity far greater than required. The problems these over reactions can cause range from mildly inconvenient and uncomfortable symptoms at end of the scale to an anaphalactic shock which is life threatening at the other end of the scale. The symptoms which arise from allergies often follow the line of the vagus nerve and include red and itchy rashes, swelling, sinus inflammation, hayfever, general irritation, altered heart rhythms and respiratory difficulties. Our human immune system can overreact to even healthy food substances that are perfectly safe to eat, such as the strawberries , shell fish, mushrooms or tomatoes . Medical thinking nowadays believes that allergic symptoms are generally triggered by proteins. A fundamental aspect of the immune sytem are the white blood cells also known as lymphocytes. There are two types of lymphocytes including B cells and T cells. Both types help guard your body against foreign substances such as invading bacteria, toxins even viruses. They move freely through the tissues of the body including the lymph nodes searching for threatening cells or foreign invaders that we call antigens. The B cell or T cell identify a threat they begin the production of antibodies to fight the threat. The process is the same whether its a wasp sting, digesting a mushroom or inhaling pollen. The ensuring battle usually releases histamines that then brings on various allergy symptoms, some of the most common being: Itching , hives, sneezing, wheezing, nausea, diarrhea and vomitting. This oversensitivity can be triggered after an illness, accident, stress or exposure to something which left the immunity hyper reactive. Allergies actually involve the human triangle of: emotions, circumstances and the physical body. If you look back over your experiences maybe there has been a significant emotional moment or event in your life that may have triggered the allergy? My allergy treatments work to nourish and calm down this over reactivity and to heal any damage done by the allergic reaction to tissues in the bodies which have been affected. From an holistic viewpoint an allergy is simply an oversensitivity to a situation or substances which causes ones immunity to react as if the situation or substance were a severe threat to ones health. On the other hand when I ponder why allergies seem to be on the rise, I wonder if it is due to the huge amounts of adulterated, processed foods and non organic foods full of preservatives, emulsifiers and colours that we now consume all of which increase the workload of our immune systems'. Often we can benefit by switchng to mostly organic or biodynamic foods and minimising our exposure to chemicals otherwise. Sometimes we try to isolate ourselves from an increasing array of foods and substances including particular items of food which other folk seem to be able to tolerate well enough. Isolation as a response to allergies becomes increasingly difficult because all we are staying away from triggers and new triggers can keep appearing because the problem is not really the trigger itself but our own hyper reactive systems. Isolation is not a viable long term strategy and neither is a long and laborious (also expensive) course of injections which are sometimes offered as a cure, again for the same reasons. All allergies are therefore best treated by working to nourish your own immune system at all levels to allow it to return to normal. The following pages may more specifically deal with your condition: http://www.herbal-treatment.net/herbs_allergic_rhinitis.html http://www.herbal-treatment.net/herbs_allergy.html http://www.herbal-treatment.net/herbs_hives_herbal.html A course of Maritime Pine Antioxidant to support the fundamentals of your immune system may help to put your system back in balance especially if there has been stress placed on your adrenals and a mixture of specific herbs firstly for the liver which is the primary organ for digestion, for the nervous system and for the increased sensitivity along with selected Bach Flowers. See more articles at: http://www.herbal-treatment.net/herbal_treatment_articles.html Home Remedies - Calming Allergic Reactions Using herbs that balance the immune system, decrease inflammation and soothe indigestion. Chamomile and Marshmallow perform all three of these roles, Peppermint and Ginger aid digestion and decrease inflammation, and Echinacea provides the immune system with discretion in dealing with foreign substances. You will probably not see the effects of these herbs immediately, since it usually takes time to correct food allergies, but they are safe for long-term use. Allergy Tea 2 cups water ½ teaspoon each echinacea root and marshmallow root 1 teaspoon chamomile flowers ½ teaspoon peppermint leaf ¼ teaspoon ginger rhizome Combine water and echinacea and marshmallow roots in a saucepan and simmer for about 5 minutes. Turn off heat and add remaining ingredients. Steep for 15 minutes, then strain out herbs. For a 50-pound child, give 1 to 2 cups daily. These herbs can also be used as tinctures; for a 50-pound child, give ½ to 1 dropperful (30-60 drops) daily. Hives, the rashlike skin bumps that can drive kids crazy with itching, are another symptom of food allergy. To stop the itching, sponge the child's skin with a warm herbal wash. If that does not provide enough relief, apply an herbal poultice. Even children who normally object to having a poultice smeared on their skin often accept anything that relieves the discomfort of hives. When these herbs are not available, try a hot bath or shower. Hives Skin Wash 1 cup boiling water 1 teaspoon each calendula flowers, chamomile flowers, echinacea root, elder flowers and yarrow flowers 3 tablespoons baking soda Pour boiling water over herbs and steep for 15 minutes, then strain out herbs. Stir in baking soda. Apply to irritated skin with a soft cloth or a sponge until itching is reduced. Alternatively these can be mixed to a slurry with slippery elm or clay to make firmer paste. Reader Feed Back An Amazing Transformation - Equine Sarcoids Hi Robert, I thought I would drop you a line to update you on my mares sarcoid progress. It is incredible! To begin with, it was an open sore like (almost looked like proud flesh) tumour on her nose, about the size of half a hand, extending from the very bottom of her muzzle to half way up her nostril, standing out about 1.5cms from her skin, it's been there for at least 4 years, growing. The photos show the sarcoid about 2 weeks after starting the program, it is much less weepy and there is a sort of solid edge forming on it, that you just see. After 3 months of the twice daily treatment the sarcoid has now disappeared completely. I began using the treatment twice a day to begin with and then I got a bit inconsistent, but still after 3 months it is basically gone. It is now flat and about 2 cm by 1.5cms. Before you could feel the tumour underneath the skin, extending beyond where it had broken out, this has all gone too. I had had surgery (at a vast cost) recommended by one person as well as various chemical treatments. I'm extremely glad to have tried Robert's treatment, all my friends who have seen it are amazed. We had the equine dentist out a while ago who was so amazed by the disappearance of the sarcoid (that had been bleeding and weeping when he had done the horse 4 months earlier) that he was contacting Robert to help with his hayfever! I would unreservedly recommend this treatment option to anyone who is battling sarcoids in their horse. I am studying vet science at Melbourne university and hope to also study natural medicine when I graduate, seeing how this has worked for my mare has made me much more determined to do so. Many thanks Amanda Waller and Octavia. We value your feedback so much that we are making it easier for you to send us a sentence or two.
